FROM YOUR PHOTOGRAPHERS
Your wedding planner and florist will surely be able to give you the best advice to exalt the beauty and magic of your event by working on the lights, colors and the play of heights and volumes of the arrangements.
Speaking instead from a photographic point of view these are some tips that will make your reception memorable also through the images.
To make the most of the light for couple shots, the ideal would be not to start DINNER before 7/7:30 PM and finish it around 08:30/9 PM to take advantage of the warm SUNSET LIGHT during the dinner and then to the magical BLUE LIGHT of the lake for THE CAKE CUTTING. This is not always possible because it depends on speeches, but you always try to ASPIRE TO THE TOP, right?
Being 2 photographers during the event we can also manage the DETAILS SHOTS and while one of us takes care of the couple or the guests the other is able to capture the beauty of all the details of the table. It’s important at this stage that the SETTING BE READY and the CANDLES LIT 30 MINUTES BEFORE the start of the dinner and to assign someone -if you do not have a wedding planner- who prevents GUESTS from PLACING OBJECTS …jackets and bags on the table/chairs before sitting down.
The B&G ENTRANCE for the dinner is a very Italian tradition and is obviously very celebratory… It’s certainly a photographically captivating moment. It can be told with an elegant entrance followed by a warm applause, with the classic twirling of napkins, with a dancing walk…
What certainly cannot be missed, when you reach your place, is a NICE TOAST followed by a KISS at the table while all your guests are celebrating you. This exciting moment will be followed by the INTRO SPEECH and by the following ones between each course.
We suggest that you do NOT EXTENDED these times too much because the risk would be either to have to start the dinner early and lose the best light for the couple photos or to steal time from the party that comes after.
However, if you already know that your loved ones’ speeches will be LONG-WINDED, you could take advantage of the REHEARSAL DINNER to get ahead and not have to give up nothing.
Considering all these beautiful moments here, from the funniest to the most romantic and exciting, many couples ask us what is the BEST POSITION for the bride and groom during the dinner in relation to the guests.
This obviously depends a lot on the location and how the tables can be arranged. It’s important to consider the PHOTOGRAPHIC ASPECT both by thinking of the panoramic image of all the tables (or of the complete table in the case of the imperial one), and the portraits of the excited B&G during the speeches and finally thinking of a toast and kiss taken from behind with the bride and groom and guests in the background.
It might be nice for the person giving the speech at that moment to approach the bride and groom…This would make everything photographically.more fluid and harmonious.
